Shawn Tolleson
Hall of Fame Banquet Speaker
Former right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson played for the Texas Rangers from 2014-16, going 11-7 with a 3.84 ERA and 46 saves in 174 relief appearances. A Dallas native and graduate of Allen High School and Baylor University, Tolleson was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 30th round of the 2010 June draft. He made 41 relief appearances across two campaigns in Los Angeles (2012-13) before being selected by Texas on a waiver claim in November 2013. He posted a career-low 2.76 ERA over 72.1 innings in 2014, the most relief innings in team history without a save opportunity. The following season, Tolleson was the A.L. West Division champions primary closer, converting 35 of 37 save opportunities with a 6-4 record and 2.99 ERA in 73 games. He added 11 more saves in 37 outings in the first half of 2016 before back and right elbow injuries ended his career in 2019. Currently a resident of Fairview, Texas, Tolleson owns several businesses, including POV Athletics, an athletic performance center, and Tolleson Health Advisors. He was the 2020 recipient of the Rangers’ Mark Holtz Alumni Award.
